Origin & Meaning
The Story Behind Raven Recovery
The name Raven Recovery carries both origin and meaning. Its official origin began in early spring of 2018, when the name Raven Recovery was gifted to me through Spirit in a dream. I awoke with a deep knowing that I would be starting something, although I did not yet know exactly what it would become. At the time, it felt more like a seed than a plan — something placed within me before I fully understood how it would grow.
As my professional life, spiritual life, and life journey continued to expand, so did the concept and vision for Raven Recovery. I continued to study, train, research, read, and refine my skills. I also continued to move through contrasting life experiences that tested my faith, strengthened my resilience, and gave me opportunities to change my lens of perception leading to greater inner freedom.
I saw the need for people to have support not only in moments of crisis, but also in the deeper work that comes after — the work of reflection, renewal, restoration, and rebuilding. I wanted Raven Recovery to help fill gaps for those seeking something more: more clarity, more alignment, more purpose, more connection, and a more grounded way forward.
That may include addiction, recurrence of use, or family recovery. It may mean going deeper in an already established recovery journey and asking, “What still feels missing?” It may mean recovering from old thought patterns, harmful relationships, painful experiences, spiritual disconnection, fear, shame, or ways of living that do not feel aligned. It may also be for people who do not identify with addiction at all, but who are seeking course correction, self-exploration, healing, and a renewed sense of direction. Recovery is not simply about one issue, one decision, or one chapter. Recovery is an ongoing process of micro and macro revelations — reclaiming one’s life and allowing greater clarity and meaning to emerge from each experience with high trust.
The raven symbolizes this journey.
The raven is associated with wisdom, transformation, rebirth, intelligence, and guidance through the unseen. To me, the raven represents the ability to move through darkness without being defined by it. Ravens represent resilience, spiritual awareness, and the courage to rise above even when the path is uncertain. Ravens are an invitation to have High Trust and remember that endings are also beginnings.
That is also the heart of Raven Recovery’s motto — Fly Above.
To Fly Above does not mean denying pain or pretending all is well. It means choosing not to remain trapped beneath what was meant to break, diminish, confuse, or define you. It means rising with wisdom. It means allowing faith to lift perspective. It means reclaiming your voice, your purpose, your peace, and your relationship with yourself and others. It means building a strong foundation rooted in High Trust.
The name is both a beginning and a reminder. Recovery is possible. Renewal is possible. Reclamation is possible. No matter where someone is on the journey, there is always an invitation to seek truth, make a course correction, explore what is calling for healing, and begin again.
Raven Recovery exists to help people do just that — to recover, reclaim, and Fly Above.
